Terms of use
The plain terms
Last updated October 28, 2026
Well is a feed of Scripture and short devotionals, on the web at getwellapp.org and in the Well iPhone app. By using Well you agree to these terms. We’ve kept them short.
Who we are. Well is made by Happy Moose Apps Inc., a company in British Columbia, Canada. “We” and “us” in these terms means Happy Moose Apps Inc.
Who Well is for
Well is for adults. You need an email address you can read to make an account, and you’re responsible for what happens on it.
Free and membership
Some of Well is free to scroll. A membership opens everything, including the full reflection on every card: the devotional, what the verse means, and a prayer. Well has no ads.
Your membership
- Price. $39.99 a year, in US dollars. Sales tax may be added where it applies.
- Free week. A new membership starts with 7 days free. You add a card up front; nothing is charged during the free week. There’s one free week per email: if your email has had a Well free week on the web before, we tell you before checkout and your membership starts that day. The App Store decides free-week eligibility for App Store purchases.
- A reminder. On the web we email you on day 5, before your free week ends. In the app, if you allow notifications, the app reminds you before your free week ends.
- It renews. After the free week, your membership is charged $39.99 and renews every year until you cancel.
- Failed payments. If a renewal can’t be charged, you keep access while the payment is retried. If it still can’t be collected, your membership ends.
Cancel anytime
Joined on the web: sign in at getwellapp.org/account and choose Manage or cancel, or use the link in your Well emails. You can also email us and we’ll cancel it for you.
Joined in the iPhone app: Apple bills you, and only you can cancel it there: Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or Manage subscription in the app’s Account screen. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews to avoid the next charge.
When you cancel, you won’t be charged again, and you keep Well until the end of your free week or the year you paid for.
Refunds
Web, within 14 days. If you joined on the web, email support@getwellapp.org within 14 days of a charge, from or naming the email you used, and we’ll refund that charge in full. No reason needed. Your membership ends when we refund it.
Web, after 14 days. We don’t refund a charge for forgetting to cancel, for not using Well much, or for changing your mind. We still refund a duplicate charge, a charge you didn’t make, a year when Well didn’t work and we couldn’t fix it, and anything the law where you live requires.
Cancelling stops future charges; it doesn’t refund a payment by itself. That’s why we email you before your free week ends.
App Store. Apple handles refunds for purchases made in the app, at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds your membership, it ends then.
Purchases through Apple
If you join in the iPhone app, Apple processes your payment and its terms apply to that purchase, including Apple’s standard license agreement for apps. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no duty to support Well and isn’t responsible for it; questions about the app go to us.
Web payments are processed by Stripe; your card details go to Stripe, never to us.
Scripture and our writing
- Scripture in Well is the Berean Standard Bible, which is in the public domain.
- Everything else (the devotionals, notes, prayers, card lines and the app itself) belongs to us. You may read it, save it, and share single cards with friends using the Share button. Please don’t copy it in bulk, sell it, or republish it without asking us.
Not professional advice
Well offers Scripture and devotional reflection. It is not medical, mental-health, legal or financial advice, and it is not counseling or crisis care. For those, please talk to a qualified professional, your doctor, or your pastor.
If you are in danger or in crisis, call 911 (in the US). To talk to someone now, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. If someone at home is hurting you, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233. Outside the US, call your local emergency number.
Using Well fairly
Don’t try to break Well, get around the membership, or use it to harm anyone. If someone does, we may end their access.
Delete your account
In the app, open Account and choose Delete account. On the web, sign in at getwellapp.org/account and choose Delete my account. Deleting cancels a web membership right away, with no automatic refund. An App Store subscription is billed by Apple and must be cancelled in Settings, or Apple keeps charging you. What we delete and what we keep: privacy policy.
Our promise, and its limits
We work to keep Well running and accurate, but we provide it as it is, and it may sometimes be unavailable or contain mistakes. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or incidental losses from using Well, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for Well in the last 12 months. Nothing here takes away rights the law gives you that can’t be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. If you live somewhere whose consumer laws give you more protection, those protections still apply.
Changes
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here and change the date above. If a change affects your membership or what you pay, we’ll tell you before it applies to you.
